Central Precipitator Control
The Hamon Research Cottrell Transceiver is used as a bridge between a Distributed Control System (DCS) and the HRC Microprocessor T-R Control (MTC-G3 or MTC-G2) and Microprocessor Rapper Control (MRC) through an RS485 port. The Transceiver continuously scans all of the controls to gather reading and setpoints. The data is stored in the Transceiver memory so that the DCS can read specific data in an organized fashion.
The operator is able to read all information available in each of the TR and rapper controllers and to make all of the adjustments to all of the operating parameters from the DCS. Significant electrical energy savings may be realized through the Energy Management features of the Transceiver.
Three Energy Management control methods are available - primary voltage limit mode, intermittent energization mode or SCR firing angle mode. The HRC precipitator specialist will assist in setting up the most appropriate method for the specific application and site-specific operating conditions.
